Educational Designer, Matt Murphy B. Sc., M.Ed, has coached teachers across the country on the many ways to implement digital resources in the classroom. Through his experience, Matt has identified several best practices and will be sharing his findings with you and your teachers on Wednesday, February 20th and Thursday, February 21st.
This session will focus on:
- Coaching blended learning best practices;
- Determining which tools will have the greatest impact;
- Identifying how blended learning affects student success;
- Encouraging 21st-century skills development throughout the curriculum;
- Properly blending tools to collect and respond to assessment data across the class, school, and district.
Matt will then round out the hour with an open Q&A session to answer all of your questions about the ‘how-to’s and ‘why-for’s of blended learning!

Matt Murphy hails from St. John’s, NL with his wife, Kelly, and his two daughters, Teagan and Taylor. He has a Masters in Curriculum Design and has a wide variety of experience in the realm of education. He was a Science, Math, and Music teacher with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School Board; an Educational Coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society; and an Instructional Designer for clients all over the world with D2L. Today, he serves as the Educational Designer for Zorbit’s Math Adventure – a game-based K-3 math learning platform. Throughout this array of experiences, he has become well-versed in how to use technology effectively in education and has developed a passion for game-based learning and promoting a gameful mindset.
